The Devil Returns
Its been many long years since johnny died and the devil rose again.
He smiled with pride and sick delight as blackness covered the land.
But through the dark out in the west a light began to glow
Where satan found a little girl with just a fiddle and a bow
The devil told the little child,
"I can play the fiddle too
And if you think you’re up to snuff,
I’ll make a deal with you.”
You think your something little Miss
With your music and your smile.
I’ll bet my rule against your soul
And I’ll beat you by a mile.
My name is Lindsey
and I’ll take that deal
I may just be a little girl
But I’ll crush you under my heal.
Lindsey rosin up your bow
And play your fiddle well.
You fight the prince of darkness
And All the hordes of hell
If you win your people will
Be free from evil’s hand
But if you lose
Your soul’s forever damned.
The devil opened up his case
And said I’ll start this show
All the fallen angels grinned
as he rosined up his bow.
He placed the fiddle neath his chin
Pulled the bow across the strings
It was now the point of no return
As his violin began to sing
When the devil finished Lindsey said,
I think it’s now my turn.
I’m sure glad you like it hot
Cause you’re gonna feel the burn
The devil just stood there stunned
How had he lost again?
To nothing but a little girl
And this would be his end.
But Lindsey smiled, looked up and said
“Devil, you never could have won”
“cause I’m a child of Johnny
And your reign on earth is done”
